    Hi Jacobsgirl,

Your post is my nightmare! My boyfriend was taken away 3 weeks after our daughter was born! He was supposed to be getting out in December but got into a little trouble in prison.....go figure, now they say he can get out in March.

I so want him to find a job, and be a good father. He has only seen Maggie, his daughter 3 times. She is so big now, and thinks a photo is her dad :(

I pray he does what he says he will do.

Thanks for your post, and God bless you:)

My kids' dad has been in and out of prison for most of his adult life. You are just going to have to hope that you are strong enough to raise the kids on your own, because sadly, you can't count on them to be there.  Just instill values in your children that will prevent them from making the same mistakes!  I still love my kids' dad, and I write him and let him talk to the boys, but I sure don't count on him ever changing......less disappointment that way, for myself and the boys. No sense getting their hopes up time after time. People that get locked up seem to think it only affects them, and they are so far from right it's ridiculous.  Good luck, stay strong, and love your kids.  If this sounds harsh, I apologize, but sometimes it's cold hard fact.
